Three flights, 24 hours of air travel and probably some jet lag are in my near future. I leave for Mumbai tomorrow where I will spend the next week at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research to give two lectures in mathematics, one that’s at an elementary level and another that’s a state-of-the-art level lecture.
This will be my first trip to India and I’ve been looking forward to it for some time. People tell me the sounds and smells of India are like nothing I have experienced before. I’m looking forward to doing some mathematics and eating some good Indian food, although I doubt I’ll find curried turkey.
I’d like to wish everyone back on campus (as well as any loyal blog readers who might be off campus) a good Thanksgiving, a restful break from school or work, and safe travels.
